I am a data enthusiast self-taught in programming with a background in marketing and management. I have five years of progressive experience in the realm of analytics, two of which dealing with social media data and another two with mobile content and advertising data. Data anlysis for the Public Engagement department, covering owned and earned media.
Leverages Cheetah Mobile big data's capabilities to advertise mobile apps on Facebook. Develops models and tools (R packages) to support internal team of analysts. Assists department's engineers with some PHP scripts. Automates numerous reports to alleviate burden on marketers and improve communication. Supports department's media buyer with analysis and reports on performances of facebook advertisements. The advertised products are mobile applications, all offers CPI and conditional on day-2 retention.
Achievement: Successfully launched a new commercially viable business line.
Oversaw 3 months reputation study for communication giant Huawei to assess the brand image of its B2B division amongst think tanks, NGOs, governmental bodies (i.e.: EU Commission), and more. Interviews were conducted in face-to-face in Belgium, Germany, France and Japan (for cultural reasons) while the survey was conducted online in another 12. Involved in survey design, data collection and cleaning as well as reporting. Monetary value of project: over RMB 5 million.
Achievement: Project delivered on time to a satisfied client; learned the ropes of traditional market research.
Managed the agency's Research & Insights department—a team of 3 analysts—focusing on social media research (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Sina Weibo). Clients included; Durex, Burger Fuel, Fonterra, and more. Covered the whole research process; from defining RFPs to presentation of findings to clients through analysis and visualisation of the data.
Achievement: department went from a loss-making team consisting of myself and a part-time employee to a—profitable—team of 3 analysts and a Java developer; department yearly revenue 2015 was around USD 200'000.
Monitoring services for 1) BHP Billiton base metals (copper, zinc, lead, steel) and Central Economics & Analysis, 2) Swarovski (French), 3) Johnson Controls (French) and 4) Wartsila (Shipping). Providing the aforementioned clients with essential information about changes in their martkets using mainly news agencies as source of information.
Social media analyst using R, Gephi, NodeXL & Microsoft Excel. Clients included the State of Hawaii, GIA, and more. Providing, weekly and monthly reports about clients' online reputation and presence on Western as well as Chinese social media.
